Havaiki Kai connects family's through a history of service. To serve through food and catering for your special occasions. From family mass, birthdays, weddings, baby showers and the many other celebrations of life, to unveilings, funerals 'Faalavelave' is the term our family run business know all to well. Raised at the feet of our elders, we experienced food using our senses, where we heard the crack of the mussel shell, saw how to feed the masses at a gathering, tasted the seafood bounty fresh from the ocean, but more importantly how we felt being surrounded by our loved ones at dinner time. Inspired and influenced by the teachings of our parents and recipes that have been shared from the rich cultural histories of Tahiti, The islands of Rarotonga and Samoa with an understanding that our whānau's secret recipes are just that, "secret"! HK or Havaiki Kai is inspired by our mother's favorite but very colorful celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and is a nod to our own version of "Hell's Kitchen", yet it celebrates the beauty of fresh produce and is a salute to our pacific heritage. Acknowledging the migration of my people to Aotearoa, Te Moana Nui-O-Kiva is our connection to the origins of Havaki, and is where Havaiki Kai was born.
